These heirloom quality toys make a special gift for newborn babies, they look adorable on the nursery shelf and they will sure to be treasured once bub is old enough to give these soft knitted toys some loving cuddles.

The shamba cow knitted toys come in 3 sizes:
Small: 17 cm when seated
Medium: 27 cm when seated
Large: 37 cm when seated

We have a range of knitted animals available: zebra, cowechidna, elephant,
koala and sheep.

These knitted animal toys are hand crafted by the artisan group, Kenana Knitters based in Kenya. Local Kenyan, Patricia Nightingale, founded the group in 1998. Patricia wanted to assist local ladies who were lacking a market for their homespun wool. Over time with clever designs, she and the knitters transformed the yarn into unique creations. With a vision to further impact the community, Kenana Knitters taught women in the area to knit beautiful, organic cotton products using local, sustainable resources. By providing a safe, family-friendly working environment, Kenana Knitters empowers women, offering them a chance to work and take charge of their lives, with pride and dignity.

About Bolga Baskets

Product Care Instructions

Bolga Baskets can be cleaned using water. We do not recommend the use of soaps or cleaning product as this can affect the dyes used on the product. Baskets can get out of shape during their travels and this can be easily fixed. Simply soak the basket in water and reshape while the basket is damp. Dry in natural sunlight.
