She has big hair, a big personality and will inspire your girls to dream big!

Yaa Asantewaa is famously renown in Ghana as the Warrior Queen of the Ashanti people. Yaa Asantewaa stood up for her rights and freedom when the British demanded the Ashanti people surrender to their reign. When the Ashanti leaders were discussing the plans against the British and appeared to be considering surrender, Yaa Asantewaa rose up and rallied the leaders with a famous speech:
“I must say this, if you the men of Ashanti will not go forward, then we will. We the women will. I shall call upon my fellow women. We will fight the white men. We will fight till the last of us falls in the battlefields."

We chose to name our Doll after Yaa Asantewaa as she is an extraordinary role model for our daughters, an example of strength to rise up even when the odds are stacked against you, to never give up. Each dolls comes with a detailed story about Yaa Asantewaa to inspire our young girls to stand up for their rights, believe in their strength, stand against bullies and use their voice to raise and support others.

Dolls are 32cm in length and fit perfectly in our Dolls Moses Baskets.
Each Doll comes dressed in an African print clothing.
Please note that print placement will vary on each doll.

100% of the profit from the sale of each doll will go to our charity partner, AYI Centres. AYI Centres are a community-based initiative that provides a centre where local children in Teshie, Ghana, can meet in a safe environment, access educational resources, free meals, tutoring and mentoring from trained peers. The centres include books, toys, games, computers and access to the Internet. Things we take for granted in our homes that not all children in Ghana get access to. Your contribution will go towards purchasing resources, covering operation expenses and our ambitious expansion plans to create 5 more centres within the next 5 years across Ghana. Please help us spread the word about Dolls for a Cause and share your Doll moments with us on social media, tag us: #dollsforacause @adinkradesigns
