Our hand woven African baskets are from Bolga in Northern Ghana. Traditionally used to carry goods, the Ghanaian Bolga baskets are famous for their durability and long lasting quality. Made from dried elephant grass, dyed using a combination of natural occurring dyes from the earth and fabric dyes to achieve the vibrant colours and patterns recognizable throughout African culture.

The oval shopper baskets are popular not only because they look great, they are just so versatile and are a much more environmentally friendly option for your regular grocery shopping. They are similar in practicality to the market basket but with a shallower, longer design which gives ample space for weekly shopping trips (see photos for comparison in size between the market and oval shopper baskets).

As the Oval Baskets are handmade they will vary in size.  No one basket is the same. Although they a We have divided the baskets in to 3 sizes based on visual measurement and d small, regular and large. 

Each market basket is hand woven individually so sizes may vary slightly. Each basket has been measured individually due to the varying sizes.  There are 3 different sizes. Regular, large and X-Large
