Our mud cloth cushions are made in Australia from genuine mud cloth fabric.

Mud cloth is a rustic textile skilfully hand made by artisans in Mali. The cloth is made up of many smaller strips that have been intricately hand woven, then hand stitched together to create a larger canvas. The mud cloth is then painted in traditional designs with natural dyes that are made from mud and plants.

Due to the vintage and handmade quality of textile this cushion is made from, they should be treated gently and one should expect minor imperfections that add to its one of a kind nature and authenticity. 

Mud cloth can be washed in cold water without much colour loss. However, as the dyes are natural and may wash out over time, dry cleaning is preferable if it is absolutely necessary.

Our mud cloth cushions include single-sided mud cloth, backed with high quality upholstery fabric and zipper opening. 

Our mud cloth cushions are 45cm x 45cm.
There is the option to purchase with a 45cm x 45cm insert. This is the insert size we recommend, if you were to go any larger, it would put strain on the hand stitched sections of the mud cloth fabric.
Our insert is from Inner Green, made in Australia and filled with non-allergenic recycled PET fibre. The insert can be hand washed.
