So, you’re bringing home your bundle of joy; a scary and downright terrifying experience. You have to make sure that your home is baby-ready, and I’m not just talking about making the nursery look like it’s out of a movie. Here’s how you can prepare your home for the arrival of a baby.
Decide Where Your Baby Will Sleep
Kelly Boateng from Adinkra Designs shares her wisdom. “First consider where in the home baby will sleep. According to SIDs guidelines, the safest place for your baby to sleep in the first six months is in a room with you. If you decide baby will sleep in your room, then the amount of space available may dictate what type of bedding you select. There are many options available such as cot, bassinet or moses basket. Smaller baby bedding like a bassinet or moses basket will not only be an easier fit in your room but can help create a cosy and secure sleep environment for baby.” Find out more about Adinkra Designs by following them on Facebook and Instagram.

Each basket is an interpretation of life in Ghana, West Africa. Mothers are weaving while cooking, feeding, nursing, cleaning, schooling their children. Fathers are weaving while growing crops and brothers and sisters are watching, learning and developing their own take on the craft. It’s a balance of life and artistic feeling.
